Hello again,
My friend/neighbor, Melanie was giving me a hard time because I have not posted in such a long time so here I am. We have been busy with our trip to Louisiana and just with life in general so I have just not made time to sit down and update.
Tyler's birthday evening was nice. We ate too much and just enjoyed each other's company. He looks so good and seems to be really happy. He is looking for a job because he works with Mia, his girlfriend and they feel like it would be better for their relationship if they were not togther all the time. He would like to find something that does not involve food. He is planning to spend Christmas day with us here at our house and I am very happy about that. I got to spend the afternoon with him on Thursday and that was good, at least for me. I think his little brothers make him a little crazy because he is not used to them and their noise.
Mason is already talking about his birthday. I can't remeber what got him started on it but he talks about it all the time now. I think maybe because he has been to a couple of friend's parties in the past few weeks at the place where we are going to have his party. When he gets on a kick about something he can be relentless. We have also been talking a lot about Jesus' birthday. I am trying really hard to keep our focus on the Lord this holiday season. Mason is not really excited about Santa because we have not really played it up this year. If it wasn't for the "better be good or Santa won't bring you anything" I would be happy to drop him from our tradition all together. Mason is still an awesome big brother. He always asks to hold Harper and loves to kiss and hug on him. He is such a joy.
Harper is sitting up on his own and when on his tummy he is trying to pull his knees up under him. He can only manage to make himself go backwards for now. He is such a happy baby. He smiles this big huge beautiful smile most of the time. He has gotten really chubby. We are actually getting more comments about his cheeks than his red hair these days. Speaking of hair, Harper and my neice, Tess have almost the exact same hair color. I am glad because she has beautiful hair.
Today is Brent's 31st birthday. We had a busy day because we hosted the Tabler Christmas get together at our house today. I think everyone had a nice time. Mason really enjoyed the cousins, 2 of the 3 are red heads by the way. They are a lot older than him but they still had fun playing together.
Well that is it for now but I will try to be more consistent with my postings.

How did I get so lucky?
Hi,
Harper is growing way too fast. We graduated him to a big car seat today. He had almost out grown the infant carrier seat we have been using since he was born. The weight limit is 22 lbs. and he was already 19lbs. 4 ozs. a few weeks ago at the Dr. He seems to have had a huge growth spurt in the last few weeks. He has gotten really chunky and now looks so much like Mason did at the same age. He is eating solids really well. At most of his feedings I have to give him 1 1/2 to 2 jars of baby food, the 2.5 oz jars. Squash seems to be his favorite but he has liked everything we have tried so far. Carrots, applesauce and banana's are the others. He is totally filling out most of his 6/9 month clothes. He continues to be such a good baby. Every where we go people are drawn to him because of his big bright smile and of course the red hair.
Mason has had no problems from his dental work. He even seems to be eating better now. He is such a silly boy, always cracking me up with the funny things that come out of his mouth. He asked me to turn on a movie for him a few days ago and I suggested he just play with his toys instead. He told me, "I can do both mom, don't worry I can handle it". I laughed so hard. His friend Robert came over to play yesterday afternoon and they has such a good time. They were in the back yard for over two hours. Between the sand box, the swing and the four-wheeler I am not sure which was the most fun. Mason has a play date set up for Robert's house on Thursday afternoon. I am so glad he has friends he plays well with. He is such a social child, always asking if a friend can come to play.
Monday is Tyler's 19th birthday. I can hardly believe that he is all grown up. His is coming for dinner that night with Mia, his girlfriend. His request was for "real food", he wants meat and veggies. The menu will consist of cube steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, black eyed peas and corn bread or rolls. I am not a big fan of cooking right now but I am always excited to cook for him. Any opportunity to spend time with him is a huge spirit lifter for me.
I continue to count my blessings every day. I am so thankful for my three health boys no matter how big or small they are. I am blessed with a husband who always loves me even when I am not the easiest person to be with. He is such a good daddy. Mason has so much fun playing with his dad and Harper's face just lights up when daddy smiles at him. How did I get so lucky?

God is good
Hello,
All is well here. Mason was very brave and gave us little trouble on Wednesday. Everything went smooth and he is very proud of his "new teeth". The only time he really lost control was when they were taking him away from me. The nurse had to carry him away, screaming for me of course. When she came back to get the bed she said that he really loves his mommy. It made me feel good and bad all at the same time. I am so thankful that it is over and that Mason did so well. He was ready to go to school on Thursday morning and has had no problems.
This morning I put Harper on Mason's bed while I fixed Harper's bath. Harper really loves to lay in brother's room. When I walked back in, Mason had a pillow on top of Harper and was sitting on the pillow. I could not see Harper's head and he was not making any noise so my heart dropped to my stomach. I thought Mason had smothered him. I ran across the room pulled Mason off of him and saw his little head peaking out from under the pillow. He was just watching his brother and didn't seem to mind any of it. As soon as I realized he was okay I gave Mason a good spanking and explained why that was not an okay thing to do. Mason had no intention of hurting the baby, he was playing and thought Harper was having fun too. I don't think Mason would ever hurt him on purpose but I won't be leaving him alone in brother's room anymore just in case. That was way too scary, I thought I was going to throw up after it was all over.
Happy happy 35th birthday to my friend Crystal. (she will love her age being on here!) I love you and hope you have another great year trying to keep up with that sweet little boy.

Sick baby is well again.
It has been a while since I have posted because Harper was sick and therefore very needy. He is finally well and back to his normal smiling self. He missed out on trick or treating because he was too sick to get out in the cold weather. Mason on the other hand had a blast. Daddy took him around our neighborhood while I stayed at home with Harper handing out candy. When they got back I took Mason to church for our trunk or treat. He really enjoyed that because a lot of his friends were there. Mason was a firefighters and Harper was supposed to be a dalmation. They looked so cute in their coordinating costumes.
On Wednesday Mason is having dental work done and will be put under anesthesia at Springdale hospital's ambulatory clinic. I am most concerned about how I am going to convince him he can't eat before the 11:00 a.m. appointment. Dr. Rhodes insisted on doing the work this way because Mason totally freaked out at his in office appt. Please be in prayer for all of this to go smooth.
I hope to update again before Wed. but if not I will be sure to do it Thur. and let you know how it went.

Flash back
I had a serious flash back moment this morning. I walked into Mason's room and he was sitting on the bed watching one of Tyler's old Ninja Turtle movies. It was like going back in time 16 years. Tyler was about 2 or 3 when the Turtles made their original appearance and he could not get enough of them. We had TMNT everything! It is kind of weird for Mason to now be interested in the same thing, but also kind of cool too. I am really glad I saved those movies now.
Mason did the funniest thing this morning. I told him I needed to feed Harper his carrots so of course Mason wanted to help. He proceeded to the fridge and started to get the bag of baby carrots out. After I explained about Harper's lack of teeth and therefore a need for mashed baby food carrots, he totally got it. It is funny how everything is literal to him right now. Later this morning he asked me for a snack so I got him a granola bar, a little later he started calling me. When I went to him he told me I was wrong. Confused I asked him about what? He said I was wrong because a granola bar was not a good idea and pointed to the half eaten bar on the floor. I guess it took him a while to figure out it wasn't what he wanted.
Harper has been a little fussy today because he has a bit of a cold or allergies, I am not sure which one. Pray for him to sleep well tonight.

Find joy in the journey!
Hello again,
I realize life is not always what we expect but some days really take me by surprise. Mason had the meltdown of meltdowns this morning. We were on our way home from my Fit 4 Christ class (an awesome exercise class) and he had a fit because he wanted to go to the mall or McDonald's. When he realized I was not going to give in he completely lost it. Daddy had to literally peel him out of the car seat. It took a few trys to find the right distraction to get him out of his funk. I have said before that Mason is a very strong willed child but today I was ready to call Super Nanny! I know that the joy far out weighs the stress and I embrace it all. I just have to remind myself to hold on tight in the middle of the crazy moments because the joy is in the journey.

Welcome
Hi everyone,
I am creating this blog to help keep anyone who is interested, informed about what is going on with our family. The boys are growing so fast and changing everyday.
Tyler will be 19 on the 20th of Nov. I don't see him as much as I would like, he is very independent and has more important things going on than talking to or hanging out with me. We did spend part of the day together a little over a week ago and he is doing well. He has really matured a lot over the past year and seems to have his head on straight again. I pray for him a lot and hope we continue to be close.
Mason was 3 1/2 in Sept. and is the strongest willed child I have ever known. He is so smart, almost too smart. He says the most clever things and is very funny. He is going to a kids day out program on Mondays and Thursdays. It has been really good for him and for me. Right now he is very concerned about what things are for boys and what things are for girls. He got mad at school the other day because his teacher gave him a pink pencil. Now if he is around female friends, he has no problem playing with barbies and babies. He has a very sweet spirt, he loves his baby brother more that I ever thought possible. He has acted out a little since Harper's arrival but not towards Harper. He does not always understand why Harper's needs come first, at least when it comes to feeding the baby. I am excited to see their relationship grow as they grow.
Harper is 5 months old today. We started solids this week and he loves them. I took him to have pictures this morning and he did really good. As soon as I get the link to the pics I will post it. He has the most beautiful red hair I have ever seen. I have received so much joy from this amazing little guy. If you just glance his direction he breaks out in a huge grin. He has gotten kind of spoiled and can be needy sometimes but I know it is a situation we created for ourselves. He really is an awesome baby.
All in all I feel so blessed that God has trusted me to care for these three boys. Thanks for checking out my site, I will try to keep it updated with info about the boys.
